Default Rome

Any mention about HBO's ROME on BD? ITd be awesome if there coming in complete set since there will be no Season 3 (gonna kick someone's balls at HBO for not producing Season 3) and will rid of my Rome 1&2 season on SVD i there plans for Rome on BD.

Whatcha you guys think of ROME on BD? I saw rerun on HBO HD and it look real good and would look much better on BD I bet.

Well besides The Sopranos, has HBO had any other high-definition releases?

I'd have to agree that Rome would look amazing, I really hope it comes to BD...I'd be happy with just season one quite honestly, but both would be better of course.

Rome and Six Feet Under would definitely be two of my highest wants in the TV realm of things.

I believe that Rome was produced by the BBC (in cahoots with HBO). Yes, I would have loved to see the more intriguing/colorful emperors of Rome (Caligula, Nero, Tiberius, Constantine...), but how would one show this through the eyes of Pullo and Veranius (sp?). One would expect that even Pullo would have died of old age before Augustus did.

Season 3 may was cancelled due to Production budget or the Rome set got on fire as it was on news. This fire was perfect for Nero empire as he put it on fire and it would be for Season 4 or 5 since Nero was crowned as emperor after Claudius. tooooooo bad we did not have chance to watch those on Rome!

Odd note: Pullo and Vorinus were actual people too. In Caesar's personal accounts of the Gallic War, Pullo and Vorinus were the only two soldier's mentioned.

But yeah, if they went Nero/Caligula/Hadrian, etc., they'd have to recast the entire show.

I want The Wire and Dexter on Blu-Ray, although I think Dexter is owned by Paramount (unlike Weeds, which is Lionsgate).

Rome was too expensive to make, so they axed it.

And in real life, Rome is too expensive to own on SD.

It was a great series.

That was the main reason why the show was ended becuase the expense was to much to keep making the show. There was not supposed to even be a 2nd season but since the show did good the brought it back for one more.

Screw HBO when it comes to Rome and Carnivale. Two very good shows that got canned.

AND they STILL charge an arm and a leg to buy them on SDVD. No thanks. Won't buy incomplete movies on BD.

Rome was pretty impressive, it's too bad it's gone.

You can catch Lucius Vorenus in Journeyman on NBC.

I have to agree I cancelled HBO after the Sopranos went off. I am still pissed about Carnivale and Deadwood. HBO will not get anymore of my money unless they bring back Carnivale.

I would love to get Rome on BD. Some of the others I would like to see are 24 (that's a given)
The Unit
Lost (all of them)
Sopranos (again all of them)
Band Of Brothers

Lots O $'s worth. Go Blu!
