Same, It would be great to see Frankenstein, Wolfman, The Mummy and CFTB Lagoon In Hi-Def.

Hopefully they do a good job, like they did with the 75th aniversary editions of Dracula and Frankenstein.

I wonder if there's a bigger cost bringing older films to Blu-ray because they need to be restored.

I already have all the Universal Monsters classics on DVD but it will be a double dip for me if they release these on BD for sure

How refreshing to see a thread where people want to see a high-def release of vintage B & W movies. Usually, if they're mentioned at all it's some doofus saying that those "old movies" are a "waste" on Blu-ray since they "weren't filmed in hi-def".

I'm with you guys! I love the classic monsters of the 30's - 40's. I have all of these in DVD, but they'll be an immediate buy for me on Blu.

While i truly like these film they look fine on DVD,I've got the Universal Monster Series on DVD and im happy with them. It will pobably be a long time before these are released,My friend thinks they will eventually release silent films on Blu,I said I dont think so,could you really see something like Metropolis,Sunrise,The Lost World or Birth Of A Nation looking better on blu than DVD,I dont think so,the prints are SO old!

If it's on film it can look better---or truer---on BD than on DVD because film has exponentially higher resolution than DVD. And Metropolis is already being prepared for BD.

Didn't they already do the restoration work on these Universal monster films not too long ago?

This weekend I noticed 1931 Dracula is available in HD for free streaming with Amazon Prime. Frankenstein is also available in HD for $3 or $4 there.
