Great news to see one of the all time great haunted house movies arriving on BD next year on march the 23rd. Clive Reville , Roddy McDowall, and Pamela Franklin investigate a haunted house with a reputation for killing its investigators.
Genuinely scary and with superb score, plus a promised remaster for this release, all things being even - this should be a great release

As much as I love this film, I will hold back on this until I see some reviews.
After encountering poor transfers from Koch Media for both the Quiet Earth and Scanners, I do not want to end up with a similar situation for this.

I thought Scanners looked pretty good. I own movies on Blu-ray that look far worse (Black Christmas, The Reflecting Skin).

Less than a fortnight till release now, At least the packaging claims it has a new HD restoration. Feeling hopeful

It's gotta be better than NightHawks and Futureworld anyway

Just done watching and, well, image quality was ok. Skin tones seem off most of the time unless that was the intentional look. Quite a few soft looking shots, and there are two or three instances of a good portion of grain. I noticed minor white specks, and colors do not pop, though, somehow I wasn't expecting it to be. The brief outdoors scene with Roddy MacDowall at the train station is the "crispies" the image will get.
Once they are inside the old "castle" things tend to get a bit murky. Close ups fare the best providing good fine detail on faces. My rating:

Audio: 3/5

edit: no playback on my Region A player. Region C untested.

Thanks, About what I was expecting to be fair. Retired the DVD already so as long as it's a decent upgrade all's good

Arrived this morning, Had a scan through and it like LD said some nice grain, A few soft shots but pretty pleased with it as a whole. Close-ups have plenty of detail.

PQ a solid 3.5/5 from me
