Arrow Pitch Black (Unrated) Steel Book June 25, 2013

I did a few advanced searches, but couldn't find any threads/posts on Pitch Black's newest release, with the new Riddick movie hitting theaters September 6, 2013, Friday.

Pitch Black (Steelbook) (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy + UltraViolet) June 25, 2013

Here's a link: Available online only. Didn't see it in any stores to verify that.
http://www.target.com/p/pitch-black-...rm=pitch+black

Amazon.com has it cheaper last time I checked. 11.99 vs 14.99 at Target.com.

Pitch Black is a cool Sci-Fi action/horror movie about stealth tactics and the drive to survive, winning the day.

Also look for a Chronicles of Riddick Steelbook.

I hope the new Riddick is as good as the first one.

This was a part of the Universal Comic Book Steelbook wave, along with Chronicles of Riddick and numerous other films. There is a 44-page thread about those here: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=218181

Even though the second one flopped like other sci-fi movies, I rather prefered the sequel. The first looked very low budget indie flick. Was aired on Sydney TV last night.

Chronicles didn't exactly flop. It made it's money back. 115,772,733 world wide. Sure, not a huge success but most movies today would kill for that.

Yeah but that budget doesn't include distribution and marketing.

I watched the sequel the other week and it gets better once the action starts by the 2nd half, after the scene with the hounds. Before that, there was a lot of mystical talk about Necromongers and their special powers that may have lost a number of the audience members trying to catch the point of it all. Still, it was better on the 2nd watch, though Pitch Black is my preference.

I read somewhere that the studio told Diesel something like, "You'll never make another one of these again" and he didn't take their word for it, pursuing the new Riddick, but this time going for an R rating. Looking forward to it.

Karl Urban (Dredd, LOTR) will return from part 2, but I'll be surprised if he reprises his role as a Necromonger. Riddick doing what he does best again. Kicking alien @ss.

The XBox Riddick games were highly rated way back on XBox.
