I caught this on the History Channel months ago and was very impressed by it. Anyone that thinks history is boring, or WWII history in particular, should watch this.
I hope to see alot more of these kinds of historical programs presented this way, everything that is said during narration has quick and expertly placed graphics, enactments, fact lists of important stats, 3d transparent grid models of weapons, zooming around the maps. Its great. And the photographs from that era, they do some kind of CGI to move persons or scenery in the image so that it's like you are looking into a 3 dimensional picture. That's not the best description, but it really gives them some extra life. The pacing, perspectives, soundtrack scores all are excellent, especially for this kind of production. And they don't constantly recycle the graphics and give repetitive recaps at the end of each commerical break, like alot of programs in this genre (ie "The Men Who Built America" -which I still loved, by the way).
