I was also wondering this as well as on this as well as:
I am a bit confused, maybe someone can clarify this for me, but on the back of the packaging I saw today, it said Ultimatum was only 1080i. Not 1080p. Where as B13 was 1080p. Was this a mistype? Can someone confirm this? From reviews I have read on the Magnolia US release they are both 1080p. So did Alliance screw up this release? They also state that only the French Language tracks are Lossless DTS-HD. The English is only Lossy Dolby 5.1. Is this all correct? |

Both are French films, so I'd expect the French tracks to be HD audio... Dubbed is always crap!
These Alliance double features typically have both films on a single disc without extras. So naturally, the transfers aren't always the hottest things around. The 1080i thing may not be a typo, since the transfer may be an HDTV file/transfer put on disc. |

Agreed regarding the dubbing. Plan to watch in French DTS-HD glory, with english subtitles of course.
![]() But the 1080i does have me a bit worried. I picked it up anyway, because for $12 using trade and save at FS it's a pretty good deal for these 2 films. Which I have heard good things about. Especially the first. Which is 1080p thank goodness. Anyway, if anyone who bought this set could chime in. I would appreciate it, before I open the set and become disappointed. ![]() |
