Which ones is original 3d?

I can't tell which version is the original 3d Disney movie.

Why are they going for $57 and $50 and what is the difference between the two versions other than the outside sleeve? I recall these were $25-$30 before.

The $57 one is from a third party but fulfilled by Amazon. The "cheaper" one is direct from Amazon. I'm not sure of the price hike but Amazon could be selling it at retail price, no discount.

They're the aame. One is sold by a third party, the other direct from Amazon.

The $57 has an outer sleeve. The $37 Best Buy sleeve looks slightly different than the $57. Not sure if the dvd inside is all the same and just the outside sleeves are different.

That's the UK release. They so tend to be cheaper than domestic releases.

Got it, thanks. If its cheaper and it is region free, its all the same to me. Why pay more for domestic copy if its the identical movie?

The 1st one was the original. I bought it on 1st release. It had a slip.The only diff probably is the slip. the 2nd one looks like the original, but without the slip.

How do you know it's out of print now?
So Disney randomly decides which movies to make limited copies of like Beauty and the Beast but continue making 3D movies of others like Lion King?

Lion King 3D is also out of print in the US, but out of print and out of stock are two different things.

They would leave something for sale for a year or two then stop production of new discs for 4-5 years. They haven't Vaulted a title for over 2 years now so most people think this strategy is now history due in part to Digital Copies and increasingly common Region Free International release since the Vault idea was never implemented in the same way -- at least since BD came out.

This is the reason that items like Fantasia, Lady and the Tramp, Peter Pan, Lion King, BatB, etc command such value on the secondary markets since they aren't sold in retail stores or directly from Amazon.

The original reason they put them in the vault was not in order to re-release them on video but to re-release them in theaters. Re-releasing them on video is the newer strategy.
