United Kingdom Possible Indiana Jones individual steelbooks at Play.com?

I've just seen this on AVF, Wreck on HDN has said that his 'magic genie' has been told that the Indiana Jones films will come out as individual steelbooks at a later date.

There's no other info but if it's true (and Wreck seems to get inside information about play's releases) then it's great news.

Link

Thanks to barnaby jones on AVF for the heads up

We can only hope & pray this happens! I've already pre-ordered the Jumbo German Steel with the zippo, but would cancel that in a heartbeat for single releases, and unlike some I would love Crystal Skull single steel.

Chances are though the special features would be missing, seeing as they're on a fifth disc in the box set, so I'd probably give this a miss.

Hopefully these will be out a good while after the boxset as I want to get that with the bonus disc but also quite fancy these as I have my Spielberg collection seperate from my other DVDs/blus and I like the idea of having these films in chronological order with his other films.

Wreck at HDN also strongly hinted that we will see the Godfather trilogy in steelbook form soon from Play. No word on whether they would be singles or all-in-one.

This would be great news, I'm only interested in the first one really and like all my steelbooks to just contain the 1 film. I got Batman Begins and The Dark Knight as 2 steelbooks rather than 1.

The Godfather would be good too, I'd probably only get the first 2 though so wouldn't pick up a trilogy set, even if it was cheaper.

Oh I hope this is true! I only really want the films and would do anything NOT to have Crystal Skull in my collection!

Gonna buy 1, 2 and 3 in a heartbeat if this is the case. I already have a futureshop KOTCS steelbook that has been awaiting the birth of its bretheren... and it don't want no triplets! It wants 3 independently spawned brothers!

Maybe single steelbooks would be nice to have. I don't mind a jumbo pack but I do like different artwork.

I find this highly unlikely. To be able to release individual SteelBooks, the movies would have to be released separately, which, they are not.

What the hell are you talking about? He's referring to the likes of The Matrix and LOTR films which didn't become available outside of a boxset for over a yea after their release.

But did become available separately though.

Just because something originally comes out only as a boxset doesn't mean each title won't get individual releases too at some point as you've already proved.

Besides, on this occasion Paramount might have decided to offer the boxset everywhere, but also given Play the option of indidvidual releases as an exclusive, either at the same time or later.

I'm not arguing that they'll never appear. I'm just saying that it won't likely be until at least a year from now. I never said it wasn't going to happen, as you suggest I did. And, that is exactly what the other person was saying as well. Highly unlikely that these steelbooks would appear AT THE SAME TIME as the boxset release.

Agreed it's unlikely the single releases will come out at the same time as the new boxset - the studio will want to milk that first as you're forced to buy all 4 films whether you want them or not.

To be fair Wreck never said they would be released at the same time all he said was

single steel Indys will come at a later date in the UK for those willing to wait
.

I shall buy the collection sets to tide me over and then sell them if/when the Steelbooks are released.

they are releasing the boxset and the collectors edition boxset in september.
Paramount will want this to sell as much as possible so they wont let play.com release individual steelbooks for a while. i reckon you wont see them for for about a year from release date. when the individual releases are released then we shall see play.com's steelbooks as well
