From IMDb....When a young boy's family is killed by the mob, their tough neighbor Gloria becomes his reluctant guardian. In possession of a book that the gangsters want, the pair go on the run in New York.

Definitely minor Cassavetes, but I always liked it. I'll be picking this up!

Wow-I seen this years ago on cable...always thought it was head and shoulders above the remake. Will be purchasing, no doubt-Gena Rowlands owned this role!

Saw this movie once and ugh Twilight Time? It should Mill Creek release this Blu-ray

Still waiting 1999 remake with Sharon Stone release Blu-ray too.

on dvd, yeah. The first release that has the Seymour Cassel and Gena Rowlands commentary track. I also have Husbands on dvd. I really hope someone like Criterion or Arrow pick them up some day.

After Gloria M&M is the last Cassavetes movie I still want in Blu. It’s undeservedly obscure.

I also don’t think Gloria is minor Cassavetes. I think it’s the best of his mainstream movies and the only one of them which genuinely feels like a Cassavetes movie. Rowlands is amazing of course, nobody does a combination of toughness and vulnerability the way she does.
