Jason Statham (The Expendables series) “wastes no time delivering the bullet-spraying, jaw-smashing goods” (Variety) as Arthur Bishop, an assassin who makes each of his targets’ deaths look like accidents, whose calm retirement is shattered when a former employer requires his services. A film by Dennis Gansel (The Wave), Mechanic: Resurrection also features Jessica Alba (Sin City), Academy Award® winner Tommy Lee Jones (Best Supporting Actor, The Fugitive, 1993), and Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon).

Arthur Bishop (Statham) returns as the Mechanic in the sequel to the 2011 action-thriller. When the deceitful actions of a cunning but beautiful woman (Alba) force him to return to the life he left behind, Bishop’s life is once again in danger as he has to complete an impossible list of assassinations of the most dangerous men in the world.

The home entertainment release of Mechanic: Resurrection includes five behind-the-scenes featurettes looking at the development of the sequel, scoring the film, a breakdown of the Malaysian prison break sequence, and in-depth interviews with Michelle Yeoh and Jason Statham. The blu-ray disc of Mechanic: Resurrection will feature a Dolby Atmos® soundtrack remixed specifically for the home theater environment to place and move audio anywhere in the room, including overhead. Mechanic: Resurrection will be available on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-Ray Combo Pack, and DVD for $42.99, $39.99 and $29.95, respectively.

Did anyone see this and genuinely enjoy it? The trailer almost convinced me to venture out and see it but ultimately decided against it. It looked kind of kickass tbh.

Talk about a dead thread! Well, this comes out Tuesday and the review predictably thrashed the movie but sounds like the disc is a stunner. I really enjoyed this b action movie, and you get exactly what you want from Statham. Looking forward to picking it up, and if you're a fan of the usual Statham fare, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely the worst film of the year for me and I'm a pretty forgiven guy when it comes to "bad" movies. This reminded me of how alot of EuropaCorp movies are but without the fun factor. I love Statham's Transporter movies btw and also the Taken trilogy and a movie like Kiss Of The Dragon but Mechanic Resurrection is terrible on every level.

Well I can imagine this will look pretty amazing on UHD, PQ should be real good.

I've read comments about the film that suggest you don't need to have seen the first film to enjoy this one, which is the vibe I've always had. I'm cool with a standalone entry, as long as it's a fun flick. Preordered.

Saw this in the theater and agree. If you are able to turn your brain off for an hour and a half and just enjoy a big dumb action movie, this certainly hits all the right notes.

But seriously. The connections to the first are tenuous at best, I don't recall a single returning character from the first besides statham and the tone of this one is way more balls out trashy fun than the first. No prior viewing of the original necessary.

I like Statham's flicks, they deliver what is expected......90 mins of action. Had $15 in rewards certs from BB so I got it for $5. The Atmos soundtrack convinced me.

Had planned on waiting for the quick inevitable price drop but talking about this got me pumped to see it again. So when it was in the Target checkout, couldn't help myself. I love mindless escapism Statham flicks, so looking forward to a couple beers and throwing this on the home theater tonight.

Just rented this from Redbox for tonight; hope the rental version boasts the Atmos/TrueHD mix...

I love Statham in these roles (he was horribly underused IMO in the last Fast & Furious) but if anything, Alba looks SO HOT in this...

I wasn't sure what to think of it, but reading some interviews, it's what Statham wanted. Romantic buildup, slower pace. Having him brought back in over a lady rather than money.

So yeah it's alot different than the first, but that's okay. I'd happily spend another 90 minutes with Arthur Bishop if they decide to continue.

The Netflix rental is DD 5.1 only. Likely to be the same for the Redbox rental I'd imagine. Guess you're about to find out anyway.
