I'm referring to the complete series which is available on the DVD format. I need to know if this set is closed captioned or not. Can anybody tell me if it is?
I know it doesn't have subtitles. There is no mention of closed captioning being included. I looked up a couple reviews and they claim it is closed captioned. I'll like to hear from some of you if it's possible. I'm thinking of buying it. I just don't want to send it back to Amazon if it isn't closed captioned. |

Was it in 480i or 480p? Just asking because there is often an issue with displaying closed captioning if it's enabled in progressive mode (480p) or higher. The reason for this is due to the fact that closed captioning is analog and enter at every 21 lines in 480i. With progressive mode, the signal is not recognized as there is no room for it.
But thanks for checking. |

Oh man. It gets better and better. Ep.8 through 11 i think are the funniest. Can't remember the Halloween episode. 9 is the funniest IMO. Then the subject matter gets serious. Becomes somewhat of a Drama.
You should try out Undeclared if you end up liking this. ABC Family's Greek has nothing on this. Don't know how Greek is still on. |

If you ask me, I think SHOUT! Factory overprice their DVDs compared to the other studios. Although SHOUT! is a smaller distributor, so that may play a role in the pricing of their DVDs. But truthfully, I do think they are overpriced considering the fact that they lack any subtitles.
Thankfully, they do come with closed captioning. |

Yeah, it's all about supply and demand. I ain't shelling out $120 for the fancy edition of Freaks and Geeks though. No way. |

I'm think Dreamworks has something to do with the pricing since they're not the ones that originally had them. Oh wait. Dreamworks is Universial and Universial is NBC and NBC had Freaks and Geeks. But Fox had Undeclared |

Actually, DreamWorks isn't Universal. Nor is it the other way around. At the time of the airing of both series, it was an independent studio. DreamWorks did have a long-term contract with Universal Home Video for the VHS and DVD distribution. For some odd reasons, some of their TV shows ended up being distributed through SHOUT! Factory instead. Recently, DreamWorks SKG signed on with Reliance since they were unhappy with Paramount. They now are going to release all of their future movies through Universal Studios. |
