I'm very premature for this but i've been reading about this movie for a while and i'm very excited for it. A big budget fantasy adventure set in Egypt directed by Alex Proyas who did The Crow, Dark City, I, Robot and Knowing. Now i have no definite confirmation on whether it is a 3D movie but it sounds pretty huge scale so i would be amazed if it's not 3D. What surprises me is that it's not out until 2016 as it feels like a good while ago i heard about them casting this.

We'll have to see if they make the 3D announcement sooner or later, but it would be nice to see strong 3D added or filmed.

Tigermoth updated his 2016 list to include this as a conversion. I'm not sure where he got the info from but i'm glad to hear now that this should be in 3D.

anyone know if audio wise if this is getting mixed/released in either Dolby Atmos or DTS-X sound ?

That domestic gross prediction is brutal. If it pans out like that I'll be very disappointed.

If that weekend gets a snow storm, that will affect the box office for sure. I wonder if this would do better in the spring or summer, even with more competition?

The monsters at the end of the trailer, the giant sand lizard/snakes look convincing to me for the CGI, but I wonder if a different team worked on the gold statue gods.

For a movie like this with so many CG heavy shots, a lot of it would have been farmed out to different vendors, so imagine many different companies have done the VFX for this.

yeah, dredd didn't do did well in the box office due to the fact that it was released in theaters in 3d and those who wanted to see in 2d were denied the opportunity, it was a very underrated film and the 3d was very good.

I remember my theaters showed the 2D versions also of Dredd, but that is too bad some theaters didn't get a choice, since not everyone can see in 3D due to eye issues.

So Gerald Butler is the villain in this movie from the look of it. Looking forward to seeing the 3D in this one. The 3D theatrical trailer I saw in theaters had strong 3D.

Not quite what you asked, but the DCP infosheet from Deluxe confirms it will have 7.1 and won't have Auro. Those never list Atmos or DTS:X, though, so those are still possible.
