Default Kubuntu.

A few months ago I bought a new PC with Vista on it. It's not bad, but I never got rid of my old PC. I had it just sitting in my apartment unused. Well rather than trash it I installed Kubuntu. I just thought I'd share that after trying out this nice little Linux distro, I see almost no reason to go back to Windows ever again.
It runs nice and smooth, almost as if it were a new computer again.

I agree... I have a Ubuntu (Feisty) box running at home as well and it is ROCK solid. However, if the powers that be really want linux to take off and gain mass adoption, someone needs to get off their asses and make it easier to install software and drivers. The average consumer is not going to want to take the time to compile drivers and software for their distro of linux.

this is my plan. I never got rid of my laptops. my pentium 1 laptop is still with me. I plan to install linux (anything) on my other computer. BTW, linux on PS3 looked fantastic.

Make sure your wireless card in your lappy is supported before you try. If your card is based on a broadcom chipset, good luck!
