'Eastbound And Down' Renewed For Season 4
The Huffington Post | By Laura Prudom

Kenny Powers is coming back ... again. HBO has renewed Danny McBride's antihero comedy "Eastbound & Down" for a fourth season.

The news, which was first reported by Variety, follows hot on the heels of renewals for "True Blood" and "The Newsroom," which earned a Season 2 pickup the day after its second episode aired.

According to EW, "Eastbound & Down's" fate wasn't always so certain. Earlier this year, McBride seemed hesitant about committing to play the raunchy washed-up pitcher for another season. "HBO definitely wants us, and [co-creator] Jody Hill and I love writing for the show,” McBride told EW. "But there is other stuff we’d like to do. Both of us are ready to make jokes concerning people who don’t have strange haircuts."

"Eastbound's" Season 3 finale, in which Kenny walked away from the majors, faked his own death and re-appeared in North Carolina ready to become a family man, was widely believed to be the show's final episode when it aired in April.

But now HBO and the comedy's creative team have decided that Kenny Powers might just have one more comeback left in him. A premiere date for the new season has yet to be announced, but early 2013 is a safe bet."
