The Avengers - flipkart or amazon

The Avengers is releasing on blu-ray.

I have seen this movie in the theatre and the 3D was not great. Cant expect much because of the post production conversion.

So we only talking of the 2D blu-ray.

Flipkart - Rs. 899/-
Amazon - GBP 16/-

Both for pre-orders.

What would you opt for?

i ordered from flipkart , amazon is too costly , plus doubt of region free as it is disney movie.

In fact if u want both the 2D and 3D versions of the movie, Amazon.com works out quiet competitive. Same is the case with Titanic

If you want peace of mind, go with Amazon. You're guaranteed to get the lossless audio and video on the UK/US versions along with plenty of extras.

Disney India and Excel have been known to dumb down the local releases. Often their local releases are stripped of lossless audio tracks, and extras. Make sure what you buy locally in the name of Blu-ray is worth the price.

i have many disney and excel movies and not seen any stripped down of content in aq or pq , excel used to sell 1 disc instead of 2 disc set but that was back in 2009 or 10 and disney had collaboration with excel group.

edit : even uk versions sometimes have been dumbed down , someone said both uk and india got stripped down version of john carter , i dont own so cant confirm of both regions


can anyone tell y flipkart showing this as sony pictures release ?

avengers uk version don't have the bonus disk only the US version is the 2 disk edition

UK bonus disc is with sainsbury exclusive .

And US bonus disc is a Target exclusive. Amazon does not have it either in UK or USA

Got a mail from flipkart that they will start shipping avengers from 30th. The movie magazine was delayed..

Any idea on the movie magazine?

the gonna ship the Blu-ray late coz of delayed magazine ?thats sucks

waiting for my copy hope it is same as usa or uk copy with dts hd ma 7.1 not sub par like others said they faced with john carter

@kushalrocks1001 - do you have any idea what the move magazine contains?

there is a considerable price difference between flipkart and amazon. Plus i dont think amazon is giving anything like a movie magazine

uk and usa releases are high price due to dvd + digital copy combo , indian releases prices have gone down specially by disney and excel for new releases , reliance is still stuck with high rates ,surprisingly excel gives dvd combo with blu at 999 and if u order with flipkart or certain online u get for 899 .
reliance should follow them .old catalague titles from excel have gone down for 799 , i have purchased kingdom of heaven for 799 rs mrp u get low as 695 @infibeam


i have no idea what the magazine must some 20 to 30 pages kiddish stuff , i don't have high hope of getting awesome magazine, if u look flipkart page they have mention some info. i just ordered for the cheap price , magazine is just bonus which probably i will give to my 11 year old neighbor

even 999 is a terrific deal for Blu-ray+DVD. Even if we consider importing from UK it works expensive considering the shipping cost. And there is always some expert customs guy sitting to put an import duty which doesnot have any logical sense.

got the blu ray from flipkart today with magazine , its cool looking magazine .

well the movie has dts hd ma 7.1 english and dts had hr italian 7.1 ,english DD5.1, there is also hindi audio DD

on back cover of box it was written Sony DADC , looks like it got authored by sony pictures india
there are extras all in hd video , like gag,deleted scenes of 15 mins , a marvel journey and one more.

they omitted it so other audio could fit i guess , back cover of disney are utter bullshit nver go by it ,it says bonus features with 7.1 hd ma audio and 7.1 hr for italian for all extras with 1080 p lol . its only DD 2.0 english with hd video. nothing written about what extras it has until you play the disc.

i am not much into extras so i am happy with price i paid , i have never seen any movie with commentary yet .but would love to if its some old classic
