Post count disappearing

I'm not technically a newbie but I didn't know where else to post this. Usually when I'm in a thread I can see how many posts I and others have made under our avatars but sometimes the post count disappears and then many days later it comes back. Is there a setting to turn this on or off? I'm wondering if I accidentally disabled it somehow.

I've never seen post counts under avatars on this site. If it can be turned on I don't know how.

Ancient post, but you can display post counts if you go into User CP, click Edit Options, and scroll down to the very bottom. Set the skin choice to either classic or default.

I usually just go into my profile, to view accurate counts. It's on the right side of the page under statistics.

Or you can just go to the bottom left corner of this page and change the style in the drop-down box.
