Default Where are the portable Blu-ray players?

Do we know if there will be a portable Bluray player anytime soon and if so do we have any specs yet? Price, Size, Manufacturer, anything? Just realized I have a vacation coming up at the end of May and I don't have a portable Blu-ray player so for a week Blu will be rejected. Thanks.

I never understood the point of portable DVD players to begin with....

In-Dash is one thing, but those little ones, what's the point... just get a laptop!

What if I receive my (2) movies from Netflix and head out on the road for (3) days and (2) nights? It sure would be nice to have something to watch in my hotel room, rather than leave my Blu-ray rentals at home.

A lappy is like 1000, a portable DVD player is like 100.

I believe its a very valid point considering we are replacing our DVD collection with Blu-Ray Discs, why not replace the current Portable DVD players with Blu. Now as to when they are releasing them, I do not know and I'll not be purchasing them as I will use a laptop.

Panasonic showed a car deck that will cost 1500 or more

Flash based media players are the future of that. That's what the PSP/iPod copies are for

A really cheap no name port DVD is like a 100. Branded models are still in the $150-$300 range. A portable blu-ray player a this point would be the same as a laptop asa far as price goes. Anyone remember the 1st portable DVD players they were like 2-3 times the price of a dvd player and for the most part still are. It will be a while before we see a portable unit other then a laptop.

My car deck was about that, but I'm sure it's not worth much at all now, but it still works (despite being left in the rain a time or two )

I don't see the need for HD on a 7" screen though.....

We are lucky if a portable DVD player is wide screen at standard definition. Let alone a "mere 720p" we would want on a portable blu-ray player. Once the cost of OLED comes down I think we can see a 7"+ sizes of portables in 720p. Simply are not going to notice 1080p at those sizes.
