Default Disney Steelbooks

I just wanted to know the Disney steelbooks that have been released and what the availability of each title will be like. I really want to buy them and make a complete collection of them but they were mostly US exclusive as far as i'm aware and never came to the UK for majority of them.

Can anybody help with information and help on getting them please.

Yep, they have German text on the back of them. Check out some YouTube videos.

Thats what put me off tbh. I'd rather go with US steelbooks in that case. Seen some and they are gorgeous. I just need to make sure they're available and at what price really. Don't want to buy the extortionate ebay prices. Would rather a US based member be able to help me aquire them for pretty much cost + shipping like we do usually.

Would really appreciate it

Best Buy released a total of 11 Disney SteelBooks, during the first wave just like Future Shop and were released on Tuesday, December 8, 2009.
-1st Wave-
Bug's Life
Cars
Monsters Inc.
Nightmare Before Christmas
Pinocchio
Ratatouille
Sleeping Beauty
Wall*E
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Dead Man's Chest
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

-Second Wave-
Snow White
Beauty and the Beast
Toy Story 3

-Third Wave-
Lion King
Pirates Of The Caribbean Stranger Tides
Cars 2

-Fourth Wave-
The Muppets

I'm pretty sure that is the complete list, but it i maybe wrong. I'm sure other members will add the rest

I see you are in the UK like me. We have had very few Dianey steelbooks in the UK.

For the cartoons only one I have seen is Cars 2 which was an HMV exclusive. No idea if still available. Was only a 1 disk BD so missed many of the extras of the US boxset. Was also a con as called dual play, but inside the Steelbook there was a card disk saying the DVD had to be redeemed online as a Disney Movie Rewards UK member. Got mine but the redemption has now expired, and they said limited stock.

There have been HMV steelbook exclusives of the Disney live action films War Horse (1 disk, the 2 disk was an Asda exclusive) and POTC 4 (1 disk 2d version, the 2 disk was not released in UK).

Snow White was the very first one released by Futureshop. It was done in two pieces (amray with slipcover and steelbook with slipcover)

Then the rest.

There were initially thirteen Future Shop/ Best Buy Steelbooks:
Snow White
Sleeping Beauty
Pinocchio
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Ratatouille
Monsters Inc. (Jumbo)
Up (Jumbo)
Wall*E
A Bug's Life
Cars
Pirates of The Caribbean: The Curse of The Black Pearl
Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Pirates of The Caribbean: At World's End

The following year Disney went with another company for the collectible metal packaging, and they've not had Steelbooks in the US or Canada since.
Iron Packs:
Beauty and the Beast
Toy Story 3

In Canada there were a few more Future Shop exclusives - not even Best Buy got these (these were the Iron Pack releases, similar to Toy Story 3):

The Princess and The Frog
The Incredibles
Bambi
Toy Story
Toy Story 2
Alice In Wonderland (Depp)
Prince of Persia

Then there was some kind of copy write claim (I think), with regard to those cases. Disney then went with a metal case design of their own and released the following:

The Lion King
Pirates Of The Caribbean Stranger Tides
Cars 2
The Muppets

In the UK, we had Steelbooks of Prince of Persia, Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Cars 2.

Aside from those first thirteen releases and the last UK releases, none of the others have been Steelbooks.

Yeah, the UK is stiffed to hell on Disney classic steelbooks or most steelbooks for that matter. Sorry ameribrahs, this is a sweet taste of what it feels like for us when only you get exclusives which is why we are relishing the UK exclusive stuff

Yeah, sounds about right. I got PMd to say they were all pretty much OOP but i think i'll keep an eye out for something and build it bit by bit at a price i'm happy to pay.

If Disney move their butt we can have UK steelbooks but looks like i might be waiting forever for that to happen.

good luck trying to get a hold of the US ones, they are going for ridiculous money on ebay.com and any other ebay your best bet is to pick up some of the german ones like wall-e, Ratatouille etc as the US releases are like $90 each lol

My list wasn't off by much, don't know why you said "there is a bunch of stuff wrong with it" I was only off by a couple, and some information

I anticipate the vaulting system + steelbook limited editions = long term hike in prices.

In 3 years time all these steelbooks with be worth more Ironman.

Those lists are mostly correct.

SNOW WHITE was the first one released and was a SteelBook.

The 2nd year releases were all IronPacks and included TOY STORY 1-3, PRINCESS AND THE FROG, PRINCE OF PERSIA

BAMBI, INCREDIBLES were 3rd year releases which were all Viva MetalBoxes (like LION KING).

The tentative schedule for 2012 (4th year) Future Shop releases are:

THE MUPPETS
JOHN CARTER
LADY AND THE TRAMP
THE AVENGERS
CINDERELLA
BRAVE
TANGLED
FRANKENWEENIE

So far, these have all been Viva MetalBoxes also. (only the first two have been released).
