Universal has attained the rights to the novel 13 Reasons Why and plans to use it as a staring vehicle for Selena Gomez with Jennifer O’Kieffe adapting. Can't wait to see it and hope it turns out good and sounds like it could be an emotional movie if done correctly.

The story centers around a shy high school student who comes home one day to find a stack of audio cassettes on his front porch, and discovers they were left by a classmate who had recently committed suicide. She left a total of thirteen tapes, one for each person to hear about their role in her death. Gomez would play the deceased Hannah Baker, who will appear throughout the film in flashbacks

Sounds pretty interesting. Not too happy a movie I'm guessing.

Doesn't sound like it and hopefully it does better then The Lovely Bones as they sound kinda similar in tone and I heard that did bad in theaters. I enjoyed it though and hope this can pull the same off and grab an audience as well.

Actually, the first forty minutes where they all run around trying to find cassette players should be pretty funny.

Hahaha. Ah, obsolete formats.

The movie sounds like it could be interesting if done right. It might get a little boring just listening to several tapes. Something interesting could be done with that.

Sounds interesting guessing when they listen to the tapes they will go into flashback.

Not sure how this will work as a tv series. I read the book and it was well written, could be made into a movie, but a series is a stretch.
