Default Paramount/DreamWorks fallout... a primal scream therapy thread for Blu-ray fans

Titles like Aeon Flux, The Italian Job. Mission Impossible 1,2,3?

Are these going to vanish on Blu-ray now that Paramount decided to take some cash under the table to axe Blu titles?

Default Trasformers on Blu-Ray still?

Trasformers should still come out on Blu-Ray because it is a Spielberg film correct?

He was the executive producer, and his name is splashed all over the poster and intro credits.

Does this = release on both Blu and HD-DVD? or is this title an exception of some kind?

I could care less about moves like blades of glory, but Transformers is probably the only title Paramount has in the last few years I'd truly care about owning in Blu-Ray.

Thoughts?

Default Microsoft sucks!

That's the first thought that popped into my mind! I hope your right! It would be a crime not to watch transformers in hi-def BLU-RAY! This is why I HATE Microsoft... They don't have the best system or format, but they still pay their way to the top!

The press release said Paramount will support HD DVD exclusively EXCEPT any films by Steven Spielberg. So this means Transformers might not see HD till either Spielberg cave in or BD wins the war.

I believe it is a Michael Bay film, produced by Speilberg.

Since it's produced by Steven Spielberg it will most likely be released on both formats. However, don't be surprised if there is some type of exclusibity time frame that HD-DVD has this title for. Perhaps 6 months or so.

Maybe in conjuntion with Michael Bay.

It BETTER come out on blu-ray. That was the title that convinced me to get my blu-ray player last week!

Amazon is showing it for blu-ray.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...blurayforum-20

These people are not idiots. They know Blu-ray will bring them a LOT more money and it is about the money. I can see them delaying the blu-ray version to coax sales of HD-DVD players, but not ommiting it.

Besides Disney is going exclusively blu-ray and they have a lot more market share. As I have said before, family video is BIG business. We may loose some title battles, but we will not loose the war!

Default I believe Viacom is behind the Paramount flip-flop

I seriously believe that Viacom and its no-good, old-geezer chairman Sumner Redstone is behind this sudden and unexpected change. He is not new to making controversial decisions and even at the age of 84 like a puppet master behind the scene, still controls his holdings with an iron hand which includes Paramount Studios.

It's a little difficult not to believe so since Viacom owns Paramount.

Default Class Action Suit vs Paramount, Toshiba et al (Interested?)

Well folks, I have on order from Amazon the movie Blades of Glory in Blu-ray. And now I apparently won't get it. I and millions of others are suffering grievous damages, hurt and pain from this conspiratorical move by unknown parties. And I'm NOT going to take it lying down.

I would be interested in filing a class action suit to recover the damages I'm suffering along with SUBSTANTIAL punitive damages. The damages to all affected parties will certainly be in the many hundreds of millions of dollars. If you are interested in joining me, add your user name to this thread. We can get in touch later. If you are a law firm interested in being involved in representing the class, please PM me.

For now, it's HD-DVD only. Not unless Spielberg pulls it out, even if he's the exec producer.

That's not a bit drastic, that's ridiculous. Extremists make us look bad.

Whatever's on the shelf would still be for sale. It's your call if you want to buy 'em or not.

It's definitely not an extreme action. Folks need to fight back when they suffer uncalled for injuries. You don't have to be involved.
