The UK BFI release doesn't have that issue, so there's no reason this one can't follow suit. Severin are probably aware of it and understand it's one area where they can easily improve on the TT, too.

If it's going to have Severin Kids plastered all over the front cover then no thanks. I'll stick to my BFI release. What is Severin Kids? Do they realise this is not a kids film or is this some sort of clever marketing strategy that is whooshing over my head?

As this makes an interesting companion piece to Threads I'm a little puzzled as to why this is being marketed at kids. As such I doubt it'll have the bonus material the BFI edition contains, which is a shame.

I think Severin starting a Kids label is a pretty cool idea. It's a great chance for a lot obscure titles to be rediscovered by a young generation, and I do mean that.

You know what else would make a great title for this label; Dunderklumpen

The song by Iron Maiden is one of my all time favorites and I have always wanted to see the film based on that but didn't get the last BD because of the issues. Hopefully this one is better.

I don't get it. I was under the impression this was one of those slow-selling Twilight Time releases. Is Severin planning a stacked CE or something?

It's a well known and liked film that's been crying out for a quality region A edition that happens to be based on a bestselling book written by a popular author who among other things is responsible also for a very famous children's title that was later adapted into possibly Britain's most famous Christmas TV special. it's hardly an obscurity.

Plus, despite being cut and image wise paling in comparison to last years remastered British blu-ray (and it's companion DVD release for that matter) Threads proved a popular title for Severin hence they obviously figure this, one of Britain's "big three" nuclear holocaust films (the third being The War Game), worth taking a punt on releasing. Especially as I'm sure a good 30% to 40% or purchasers of the Twilight Time edition will no doubt upgrade.

If they actually throw some extras on there (like those "Mine is the last voice you will hear" PSA from the eighties), I would upgrade in a hot second.
