Miramax Multi-Feature: Masters of Terror Pack Blu-ray

Venom is released in two weeks. Have there been any reviews of the discs sent out? As its a Echo Bridge title I'd like to see some thoughts before I buy. My understanding is the packaging states the wrong aspect ratio of 1.78:1 where as it should be 2.39:1. Has there been confirmation if that is the case on the disc? Its encouraging to see that they have ported the special features from the DVD.

It is 1.78 -- though it is Super 35 so nothing is cropped on the sides, picture area is instead opened up and the top and bottom of the image.

Not perfect but it is watchable, unlike, say, CURSED which was 1.78 and was panned-and-scanned from the 2.39 anamorphic aspect ratio.

That's better news. At least it doesn't destroy the image even if it isn't correct.

I discovered this movie last summer on Starz and I loved it.

I'll pretty much watch anything with Laura Ramsey in it!!

Couldn't wait for this to come out in Blu and now it is almost here.

I really wanted to re-buy the film on DVD, but on Blu-ray it just got even betta!

Ah! I can't wait to get this!! I loved this movie and I still have my DVD. I just noticed that the covert art is slightly different.

I was wondering the same thing its not listed on Amazon for pre order. I am worried though since its being released by echobridge. I will probably still pick up the blu since I do enjoy it if the blu looks horrible I will just go find a cheap copy of the DVD

Best Buy has it listed for $7.99 on their site, so it's gonna be cheap no matter what.

I'll buy this when it comes out, Echo Bridge or not. It was a damn good horror movie and took me by surprise when I first saw it.

Just having a little fun. I understand the issues people have with Echo Bridge, but seeing as Best Buy is selling this for $7.99 I think it should be a fairly safe purchase. I own a few of Echo Bridge's releases and in my opinion the titles I've purchased aren't nearly as bad as they have been made out to be.

I don't see why they can't just release the film at the original aspect ratio, that's a lot of extra image they are giving us, and I like the 2.39:1 framing of the film on dvd.

Looks good on BD. Obviouly not stellar PQ, but very nice 3.75/5. For $7.99 a good value

. The audio is quite good, to my surprise. It lists 5.1 Dolby Digital, but DTS HD MA light up on my receiver...quite robust.
