Default Am I the only one that only liked the first 3 - The Fast and the Furious films?

  • The Fast and the Furious
  • 2 Fast 2 Furious
  • The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift

After the first three, for me they dropped immensely in quality and the point of what they were about, street high speed races not stealing a bank or whatever (reminds me of The Bank Job).

More power to those that love all of the films, I suppose.

"Fast Six" (or The Fast and the Furious 6) seems to be in development for 2013, not sure, but seems they're milking the franchise until it becomes completely dry.

I really wanted to like these films. I love the first one but just can't seem to find anything that i like in the 2nd, 3rd & 4th films. The 5th I like better than those three but it still not as good as the first. Hopefully the 6th will return to the form of the first.

I like all of them. I'm in the minority that I actually enjoy 2 Fast 2 Furious the most overall.

Agree with all of that. I will say Tokyo Drift is my 2nd fav and a close 2nd to part 2. Part 4 was easily my least favorite by the way. Got Em!!

You are definitely not the only one. I really enjoyed the first 3. It's not good film by any means, but they're loud, colorful and just plain fun. I do think they should get back to where they started, and tone down the macho action shit.

The first one is one of my favorite films.

2 Fast isn't bad but no Vin Diesel.

Tokyo Drift is awful. Like direct to DVD awful.

Then the rest turned into blockbuster fluff.

I think it's all in what you want from a Fast & Furious movie. If you're a big car guy, you'd probably prefer the first three as they're all totally focused in the car/racing world.

The reason 4 & 5 are so much more financially successful is that they've opened their focus, to just action in general. But I could see how that could rub the people who came for high octane race scenes the wrong way.

I won't respond with a "yes, you are the only one."

However, I will say that, based on what you said in your OP, you certainly don't fall into the same demographic as myself.

I'd say the first film was my favourite, but I did really enjoy 2 Fast and Tokyo Drift. Drift is stunning on Blu-ray.

I think the weakest is F&F, but Fast Five was much better.

I like all them all to a certain extent but the first is really the best one.

I don't mind the newer ones kind of drifting away from the street racing scene but would be nice to have another in the vein of the first

I love Fast Five, but I was disappointed that there was virtually no emphasis on the cars or the street racing.

I loved the first one when it was new. It was fresh, it was original, it dared to be different.

The sequel was pointless in my opinion. They managed to incorporate it into the later sequels but I still hated it. The acting was terrible and the story was just generic - for me.

I didn't mind Tokyo Drift - it was just Justin Lin trying to be different and take the hugely popular street racing idea some place where it is even more appreciated.

I liked how number 4 changed the game a little. Less racing - More action.

Fast5 took me by surprise. I was like "Hooray, Yeay, another Fast & Furious" sarcastically. When I watched it though I was surprised. I liked what I saw. A lot

The first three are way too cheesy for me to enjoy.

I like the first two the most. Don't really care for the rest.
