with the up comming movie Prometheus i think its time to give a tribute to a masterpiece

The lights turn off and after the 20 centurey fox logo it starts ..

Alien is about a group of workers aboard the spaceship Nostromo, a commercial towing vessel. The crew is awakened from stasis by a distress call from an unknown planetoid. what should have been a one off movie (once seen and then forgotten) turned out to be a sci fi classic !

In space no one can hear you scream

To me the most memorable moment in the movie is still

[Show spoiler]that scene where Ripley is running around the capsule in her lingerie. Second most would probably be the chestbuster scene.

So do we all just pretend that Alien 3 and Resurrection never Happened?

I started watching Alien 3 the other I had DVR'd it on Cinemax and I couldn't make it past the first 3 minutes.

I guess we could do a fan retcon?

[Show spoiler]3 is Ripley's Dream and Resurrection is New's Dream... seeing as how Ripley is talking about dreams at the end of Aliens

I'll watch AVP and AVP Requiem before I watch Alien 3 and Resurrection

The Assembly Cut of Alien 3 is a great film, IMO. It's still flawed but not nearly as much as the theatrical cut. Alien Resurrection isn't that great but I still enjoy it for some reason.

They're miles better than the AVP films though, that's for sure.
