Ascot Elite Home Entertainment will be distributing Christophe Gans' Le Pacte Des Loups in September 2011. According to Bluray-disc.de, the audio and subtitle tracks are not finalized yet but it's currently listed that the disc will contain French and a German dub in DTS-HD MA 5.1 and German subtitles. I am looking forward to owning this one in high definition.

Update on Bluray-disc.de, the movie will be released November 15, 2011. Disc is Region B and has French, German, and English DTS-HD MA 5.1 and German subtitles. Run time is 144 minutes.

It seems there will never be a Region A friendly release of this film

It makes no sense that it's not out in the US...it was well received and has a pretty decent following of fans. I actually saw it at a theatre when it was released...how awesome it was on a big screen.

Well, that's why I am happy to have a region free player. I am planning on getting the French release since it's the extended cut of the film from Studio Canal. I am planning on double dipping on the German release maybe around Christmas time because the German release has English dubbing and of course German dubbing. I missed it in the theaters since I was gravely ill back in 2002 when the film came to theaters, like February. I had the DVD but sold it off in 2009. I did manage to see the German dub on the Pro-Sieben channel in Germany before I moved back in 2006.

According to this site the release is region free. It would make sense since other Ascot Elite/Planet Media titles have been region friendly.

I would sooooo be all over that if it had english subs...I can't stand dubs! Why oh, why can't we get a simple original french audio w/english subs for us in the states?!??!

If you dont mind some terrible video glitches and lossy audio there is always the Brazilian release.

Does anyone have any information on this release; ist the above info correct; is this the better transfer ala the French version or the lesser UK version? Any help is appreciated.

The French HD DVD uses the same transfer as the French BD. I see the German BD uses DNR and the brightness is boosted. So, i think the French HD DVD and BD is the best version available.
