Default A question that I am sure will sound dumb... (PS3 related)

So I just purchased the Onkyo HT-R590 System and am ready to set up. Currently my set up is my PS3 hooked to my TV and my Cable Box hooked to the TV. In order to set up do I need to buy 2 more HDMI Cables to run from my TV to the receiver to get the sound? The Cable box has another HDMI spot on the back but the PS3 only has one. Again I am sure this is a really dumb question to most but I appreciate everyone's help in advance.

You want both your cable box and PS3 to have an HDMI cable running into the receiver. Then, you want one HDMI cable running from the receiver to the TV. That way, everything is controlled via your receiver. Instead of changing sources on your TV to go from Cable to PS3 or vice versa, you'll do that with your receiver instead.

Awesome! Thank you. So I put the cable & HDMI into the Receiver input and then the other HDMI from the Receiver Output to the TV right?

Yes sir. Cable box HDMI into the receiver "HDMI 1" (or whichever HDMI slot you wish) and PS3 HDMI into the receiver "HDMI 2" (or whichever HDMI slot you wish). Then an HDMI cable into HDMI OUT on the receiver and the other end into an HDMI IN slot on your TV.

Do keep in mind that you will probably have to go into your receiver setup menu and assign the inputs accordingly before you get any audio and video on the TV.

Thanks again I have to look around and see if I have any more HDMI cables kicking around, if I do I will try this tonight.
