Nice. Long time since I watched my old R1 DVD, but it's a cracking movie.

Another great US title I'm sure - I've never seen it. But I like Hopper, I like Duvall and I like Penn. So this is getting a blind-buy eventually. But they're jumping the gun a little - Midnight Run hasn't even got a release date yet!

Day 1. One of my most wanted titles on blu ray for a while now.

Also, since this is a UK release, I hope that it won't say "Colours" on the front cover.

Doubt they will, I imagine they'd use the original posters anyway for the artwork (which would say 'Colors').

I just noticed that on their facebook they made a post saying that it's "scheduled for a May / June release".

I can't believe how many day 1 (for me) movies from late 80s/early 90s are coming in the first half of 2015 in the UK and US:

Colors
Midnight Run
Singles
Hoop Dreams
Goodfellas remastered (hopefully)
Vampire's Kiss
Miami Blues

I really hope that they use the original theatrical poster in the original post of this thread as cover art. I could only find one more poster for this film, which is apparently European:

I can't believe how atrocious the DVD cover is:

Looks like it's been made by Michael Bay right after he learned how to use photoshop.

Would love Eureka to release the first one and Arrow to release the second...

As for Colours, I reckon it'll just be an amaray. There weren't steelbooks of Heaven's Gate, Southern Comfort or Thunderbolt & Lightfoot so I doubt there would be of this...same goes for State Of Grace.

Mr Duvall is creeping me out with that stare!

Judging by the other pics on here, it's never had a good cover. This'll do

Haven't seen this since I saw it at the cinema, so kudos to SS for releasing it.

Great cover, couldn't have hoped for more. And for those who don't like it:

It's the theatrical poster! So even if you don't like the cover, you can at least take comfort in knowing that the cover is the part of the movie's history and not some newly photoshopped cover.

Ya it's nice to see Second Sight back in action after Society/Bride of Re-Animator fiasco.

From Second Sight on Facebook:

Quote:
There are actually 3 versions of the film, the original theatrical version, an ‘international VHS version’ and the original UK Home Video version. The original theatrical version wasn’t shortened but scenes were added when Virgin released the VHS in the UK, marketed as a bonus rather than as a Director’s Cut. In the ‘international VHS version’ two scenes were extended. We looked into this and while the two extended scenes were available, the additional scenes in the UK VHS release did not exist in any useable format to cut back into the film, just on a very old 4:3 master. We felt a release of the original theatrical version with inclusion of the additional scenes as bonus material was the best course of action.
And I would agree! Not my favourite Hopper film, but I'm certainly looking forward to it.
