A rabid beaver in a fight to the death with boy scouts attacked their leader like something out of a far-fetched horror movie.
Leader Norman Brousseau and five others were having a foam noodle race down New York's Delaware River on August 2nd when he "spotted bubbles in the water and felt something brush between my legs".
Then something sank razor-sharp teeth into his chest.
"I thought it might be a giant carp.I peeled it off and threw it away,but it kept coming back and coming back.I could'nt believe it," the 51yr-old said.
"It just kept attacking me and attacking me.I'd get it off me and it would bite me again.I got bit in six different spots-on my butt,too.It was like a horror movie.I did'nt want it to get away and attack the boys."
Brousseau finally grabbed the beaver by its jaw and made it to shore where scouts stoned it to death.
"We threw like 20-pound rocks on it.It probably took a good five minutes to kill it," said scout Zach Pruner,15.
"At first we thought he was joking around.Then he went down and came up holding this thing," Pruner said.
A day later local health officials notified Brousseau the 2ft long 45lbs beaver was rabid.
