Default Is there a Blu-Ray player that plays Divx/Xvid?

I know Sony's dont, but are there any that do? Another option that would be sweet would be High-def Divx. Do any current or future players support this?

They all could if they wanted to, as Divx/Xvid is a subset of h.264 at simpler profile. Maybe future firmware updates will enable it ?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the PS3 can.

No, it can't... unless it's converted, of course.

I think I remember reading that the new Denon one will, but we will have to wait and see.

I may be wrong, but I think tversity will transcode dvix on the fly and stream the resulting file to your PS3... I know it will transcode AVIs on the fly.

Personally, I prefer to transcode HD files to high bitrate mp2 before I stream them to the PS3.

EDIT:
Dude, I just read your sig, and see you have a PS3... why buy something new? Check out the streaming capabilities of the PS3 over your home network, hell, as long as your bitrates don't exceed 18-20 mpbs you can even stream WIRELESSLY!
