Though details are still sketchy Dreamworks announces 3D Version of Monsters vs Aliens

When Monsters vs Aliens was first announced many were dissipointed by the lack of a 3D version similar to the ones The Polar Express and Coraline got on Blu-Ray. When 3D was such an important part of the theatrical experiance why leave such a thing off Blu-Ray. Im of the mind that Dreamworks made exactly the right decision. The 3D versions on Coraline and The Polar Express based on anaglyph sucked and would have been awful for Monsters vs Aliens. Monsters vs Aliens was instead given a reference quality 2D transfer that trumped any possible anaglyph presentation. Though anaglyph 3D was still used on the disc for Bobs big Break short movie and a game. But the movie remained without

Dreamworks makes Monsters vs Aliens the first Blu-Ray annouced for the new Blu-ray 3D standard. One that allows full color polarization in 1080p high definition that can for the first time truely replicate the theatrical experiance. Exact details on extras or release date are unknown. I was one who held off the original release because I knew this release was coming. 3D is the best way to experance this movie and this release should look great
