Thumbs up Futureshop rocks!

On the 15th of September (just before my birthday on the 18th) my wife bought me an 80GB PS3 for $660 (Canadian), plus some other stuff (Blu-ray remote, Ridge Racer 7, etc.).

This past Thursday (the 18th), I noticed that Futureshop had dropped their proce for the 80GB bundle to $499 and threw in an extra game. I know that they have a 30 day price match guarantee, so even though I was just over that limit, I went to my local Futureshop to see if they'd refund me the difference and give me a copy of the extra game. I was pleasently surprised when they said yes! :-)

After conducting my business, I went to look at the new Sony 46" XBR4 TV. I didn't get to that part of the store though, because I passed a black shirt talking to some punters about high def. They were thoroughly confused (Blu-ray, HD DVD, and upscaling DVD players), and the employee didn't seem to be getting through to them. In steps me to explain it all. I mentioned the pros and cons of each, and they went away seriously considering a Blu-ray player!

I finally got to the SOny TV, which was being demonstrated to another punter. He was a little more savvy, but I steered him the way to Blu-ray too, so chalk up two Blu converts to me! :-)
