Omg! G4 trying to push HD DVD - Blu-ray Forum

Has anyone noticed if you watch the g4 channels "xplay" or "attack of the show" someone always pokes a jab at sony, and they always plug HD DUD! I watched it yesterday and a prize for somesort of contest is a "hd dud player" and lets get over halo please! I just was wondering if I was crazy, or any one else notice these things? Also on the feed they make a huge deal out of Hd dud news that scrolls across the bottom of the screen, like the paramount news.

I could not agree with you more. Its like they are not alowed to say anything good about Sony. They are excited when there is bad news for Sony and glad to report it. Read any good news from them about Sony and they will add some Dig to end of the report. Cant Stand G4 anymore. Rename it X-Box Play.

I’m sick of halo shit. It’s the greatest disappointment in gaming history. The campaign wasn’t bad, graphics were not great. Game lagged bad. Online was what I was looking forward to, sucked ass! Halo 2 crushes this title. Haven’t played it for weeks and don’t plan to again unless there is a patch for shotty snipes, and more maps. Same thing as halo 2 in terms of multi player, just tons of missing maps. F this game.

I’m now getting a ps3 and am going to be buying games only for ps3. its going to take a lot for me to ever recommend a 360 to anyone again.

P.S. I’m sorry to anyone I’ve ever recommended one to in the past.

G4 are such sellouts its not even funny. They even say on their show that Microsoft sponsors them.

Microsoft is a HUGE sponser of the entire network.

I liked it much better as TechTV before it became G4. I hardly ever watch it now.

I'm very sick of it too. People are acting like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. It's a fun game, granted, but I've played other games that are just as good. The only reason it got a 9.5 on IGN and Gamespot was that those sites are completely biased towards the 360 (as well as just about everyone you talk to). I can tell that they hate to give a good review to any PS3 game.

For the record, I own a PS3 and my college roommate owns the 360.

Microsoft is most of there cash comes from that why you see them bash Wii and PS3 all the time but never the 360
fact is there "DVD guy" that dose there moive was the only one to say M$ won last E3

They're actually in bed with Microsoft and the Xbox 360. They push 360 games over and over in their features and are actively campaigning against the Wii and the PS3. The main host of "Attack of The Show", Kevin, has gone on air to say he hopes HD DVD wins the format war(what else would a good x-bot say) and continually recommends it. He actually gagged on air a couple of weeks ago when the weekly dvd reviewer strongly recommended the blu-ray of Fantastic Four:ROSS for its superior features.

Do not expect unbiased reporting from G4.

I agree completely, the prize of the contest is Spider Man 3 ON BLU-RAY!!! wait.. no its on DVD oh and with an HD-DVD player so you can upconvert it b/c its only available on Blu-ray. What a horrible promotion, they should have given away a blu-ray player with a copy of Transformers on hd-dvd, that would have made as just much sense. Why Spidey 3 anyway, they should give you Transformers on hd-dvd for that contest. Here's your new hd-dvd player oh and to show it off here's Spiderman on DVD since we can't give you a blu-ray player instead since were so cheap. Chris Gore talks up hd-dvd (and PiP) way too much on that show, never hear anyone ever mention BD profile 1.1. There does seem to be way too much pro-hd-dvd on AOTS, at least Olivia talks about blu-ray, Kevin talks more about hd-dvd too. They never seem to play anything live on PS3, I have noticed every game they play on live tv is on the 360, and always with a wired controller since they interfere with their equipment (according to Kevin P). Why not use a PS3 to show off web pages and have no interference with glorious bluetooth wireless controllers. G4 is too pro Halo also, that pre-release 5 hour special pissed me off, the same boring footage and watching people waiting in line on tv, just as entertaining as watching the PGL (pro gaming league) on G4.

My personal favorite was X-play giving Enchanted Arms a 4 on Xbox 360 saying the story was interesting, and a 2 on PS3 saying the story was stupid, when it was the same story.

6 hours of Halo 3 launch day coverage is ridiculous! Also, their TGS coverage gave just as much attention to the 360 as PS3, despite the fact that the primary focus of that convention is Sony, being a Japanese company.

You are right, it was only an hour special anyway (TGS). G4 did focus heavily on the PS3 during E3 07', and seemed to focus the least on Nintendo. Most of G4's analysts were raving about the Sony press conference that was held over the boring "power point style" presentation that M$ held.

But alot of the talent own blu-rays. Olivia Mun said on-air that she owned a blu-ray during Gadet Pron. Also another time she was telling a story about "advising her friend to get a PS3 cause it was the cheapest player on the market." So yea, maybe G4 is all about HD-DVD and Crapbox 360, but some of the talent are blu supporters.

Thanks for reiterating what I said. Hence why Olivia is the hottest and best of G4's analysis. Kevin is a douche anyway same with Chris Gore and Kristin Holt is hot but dumb as hell (have you listened to her), forgot about Lalie Kaylie (spelling) she is hot and sharp as hell to plus I like the English accent. Chris Gore showed of the hd-dvd version of Planet Earth b/c he liked the PiP better, too bad Blu-Ray will have it by the end of the month. They did mention a BD that had BD-Live I think last week, cant remember which movie though (he mentioned he watched it on PS3). Gore said he loved the internet connectivity of the Blu-ray, his first praising of BD I have ever heard / seen
