UPDATES:

Quote:
JUST recently, producer Michael G. Wilson said work had started on the next 007 adventure - known only as Bond 23 at the moment - and that Daniel Craig was keen to return for a third outing as the agent.

The Observer has now reported that screenwriter Paul Haggis is likely to be involved in the script. Haggis had reworked the screenplays for Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, both penned by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. He had also turned down an offer to direct Quantum.

Meanwhile, The Guardian speculates that some of the next Bond movie will be set in Afghanistan's Helmand province after an official at the British embassy in Kabul was hired as a consultant for the film.

It claims the official signed a confidentiality agreement with the filmmakers to prevent any discussion of the project.

Thousands of British troops are based in Helmand privince - the centre of the country's $4billion heroin market, where drugs fund the insurgency and fuel corruption.

It wouldn't be the first time 007 had ventured into Afghanistan. In 1987's The Living Daylights, Timothy Dalton's Bond was imprisoned there in a Russian camp and teamed up with anti-Soviet freedom fighters.

I also like the new Bond films, and would be disappointed if Daniel Craig didn't come back for the next one.

I loved Casino Royale, absolutely hated Quantum of Solace. Personally I find it amazing how much difference there is between those two movies. If they go back to the James Bond of CR, and drop the James Bourne of QoS I'll be on board.

Craig is under contract to return (I think after Quantum he signed a five picture deal from memory).

That's great, at the very least it won't be Will Smith.

Well I can't see anyone but Craig doing Bond at the moment. Hopefully he'll want to stick around for at least another 3.

I actually hate both of 'em. But now's a good time for Craig to make a real Bond film.

Glad to see you liked it Jon.

I really don't understand how people who like the first one hated the second - oh well.

Big fan of both - looking forward to the third. Hope they have a capable director.

What does that mean? "A 'real' Bond film"?

Well people like LOVED Casino Royale and HATED Quantum of Solace because it was a dramatic change from Casino Royale. It went from excellent pacing and breathtaking shots of action scenes like the slow pans of the construction site chase to me sitting there for 106 minutes thinking "WTF is going on?" I like the new direction Bond is taking I just hated how the producers fired the editor of Casino Royale and the 2nd unit director and cinematographer of Casino Royale and replaced em with terrible ones. Especially after listening to the Casino Royale commentary and hearing how much Martin Campbell and Michael G Wilson loved them.

I liked both new Bonds. I am also glad to start hearing info on Bond 23. If they do have Bond going to Afghanistan, I hope that it still in some way involves the larger story arc with the Quantum organization. If that happens, and they return to the awesomeness of CR (QoS was good, but not as good as CR IMO), then I think this film will be awesome.

He has signed on for 3 more. After CR he signed on for 4 more films, which included QoS. So that puts his total to 5 as of right now.

This article is almost two years old but it gives you an idea that he will be in at least 5.

Who will be the Bond Girls ? I'd like Débora Nascimento to be one of them!

Here she is! Your thoughts?

BTW, she was in the new Incredible Hulk with Edward Norton and Liv Tyler!
