Default Hard to Die (1990) coming to Blu-ray

I mentioned this at my Cinema Arcana FB Page, but figured it'd probably be good over here, too:

According to director Jim Wynorski, his babes-in-a-building epic HARD TO DIE (aka Sorority House Massacre 3, 1990) is finally being prepped for Blu-Ray, after years of fan requests. Stuck doing weekend inventory for a high-rise lingerie shop, five gals find this overtime is more than they bargained for when an evil spirit is accidentally unleashed, set on possessing the living to continue its string of bloodshed. Lucky for them, the skyscraper also houses a well-stocked, high-end armory, so it isn't long before they're battling back, brassiered-boobs a-bouncin', with an arsenal of assault weapons at their disposal.

The absolute definition of late-'80s / early-'90s late-night cable fare, HARD TO DIE is as ridiculous as they come, and has garnered quite a fan base since its original release -- but when you have a movie full of lingerie-clad chicks running around with machine guns, that's bound to happen. Wynorski is currently mum on details as to who's releasing the disc, but it's nice to confirm a decent remaster is in the pipeline, regardless.

(VHS art swiped from The Basement of Ghoulish Decadence!)

Wow, didn't see this coming! It'll be nice to see it again, since it's been about 15 years. Probably horrible, but I know what I'm getting into haha.

Great movie, better than most of the Die Hard films.

Saw this movie as a kid.

I'd actually buy this! I remember when it was called a reboot of Die Hard by a couple people as a big mock.

Is the movie good? No...

Is the movie good? Kind of yes, but not as a movie. It's more of a disaster gone amuck.

When the killer comes out with machine gun laughing in a demon tone, I knew the movie was for me. Makes me laugh to this day.

So, count me in. I'd buy this.

I haven't seen this movie since the 90's on Showtime or The Movie Channel, but those networks used to play the hell out of Hard to Die and its counterpart Sorority House Massacre 2.

No... F'ing.... Way. If this is true than that's a guarantee that my most requested title (Sorority House Massacre 2) should be coming as well.

I just hope it doesn't take as long as Chopping Mall took from the time Wynorski announced it to release date. What was it, 3 years?

What's going on with Return of the Swamp Thing? He mentioned that too at one point.

To sell the dvd or not?...
Since Chopping Mall did happen after looking like shit-talk for a couple years, I'm leaning sell while it's worth selling. I'd hate to sell the dvd and then never get to see it again though.

Holy cow! I honestly wrote this one off, at the least I didn't expect it before Sorority House Massacre 2 (please happen, please). This is the one installment of the trilogy I haven't seen, but I really want to. Sounds like a lotta fun. Always was curious to me that the first two are pretty by-the-numbers slashers and this was more of an action movie. Wonder why it wasn't it's own thing separate from the franchise. Anyone with the DVD or a Netflix subscription care to comment on the audio quality? I thought someone said the audio was lost for this, which makes me think they'll have to use the lossy track from the DVD.

I agree... it appears that instead of a remaster she ended up with an upscale. I really, really hope Sorority House Massacre 2 is also being worked on.
