United Kingdom Are there any 'must own' imports from the US?

I imagine some disney/pixar are better than UK releases, better audio for JC and bonus discs for others.

What are your must own imports from the US?

The US collectors edition import of Bridge On The River Kwai just because the packaging is so nice compared to its UK conterpart. The US Blu of Shawshank Redemption has lossless audio and the UK doesent. Oh and Jason And The Argonauts just because you camt get it in the UK.

I love CutThroat Island too! I would have thought it would have had a new audience after Pirates of the Caribbean but I don't think it has. It's a great action adventure.

Probably the best imports I can think of are:

Crazy expensive for something we should have had in the UK years ago!

It's really dependent on your tastes. It appears the US version of Citizen Kane is vastly superior to the UK but whether it's a must own is up to you.

Others I'd put in my must-own list, but possibly not yours:

Casablanca 70th anniversary edition (still can't believe the UK steel didn't have this)
Studio Ghibli titles
Watchmen Director's Cut (for the Maximum Movie Mode)

While it doesn't quite reach the dizzy heights of Goodfellas (what does?), I'd stick it up there with the likes of Carlito's Way and most other gangster films.

I have the Aussie release of it which I think is the same as the US version. The PQ is great anyway, which is all I care about when it comes to Blu-rays.

Under rated film in my opinion , Pacino was brilliant and i'm not the biggest fan of Johnny Depp but he played the role of Joseph Pistone very well

Worth picking up the Donnie Brasco book well worth reading goes into more depth that the film didn't get into

What's wrong with the UK versions of Blue Velvet and Zodiac?

I've actually got a thread on films you can't get in the UK, if you want me to try and find it.

Zodiac has a lower bitrate and lossy audio in the UK.

Walk Hard- The Dewey Cox story.
It comes in a extended cut where as the UK release only has the original cut.
