I haven't seen it since it first went out on the box in 1967, & I can't say I remember it much. It would be good to see it again, but I don't want to buy it, I read somewhere that the BBC are showing it in October. Great album (& great EP at the time).

£44.00 for the boxed set? Not a bad price.

Wasn't gonna look at the boxset, but at £29.99, it's very tempting.

I have pre-ordered both, and will decide which one to cancel nearer the time.

It's listed as DVD but the picture shows it as a Blu Ray. I've raised it with Amazon but I'm pretty sure it's the limited edition DVD/Blu Ray/Vinyl collection and for £29.99 that's a steal! I was willing to pay the HMV price so to get it for £17 cheaper is great news!

I tried to pre-order the box set and got a message that it cannot be sent to my country.

The product description specifies it's the deluxe BD/DVD/EP too:

The DVD and Blu-ray feature over 50 minutes of special features, packed with unseen footage.

Have you ordered other stuff from the UK before without problems?

Yes, I've been a customer of Amazon UK for several years. I never had a problem ordering CDs, DVDs, books, boxed sets, etc.

I have just tried again and got the same message for the boxed set and for the regular blu-ray of MMT as well. However, I can still place orders for other items, so I guess there is an area restriction for these two items.

Has anyone else outside the UK tried to order and experienced this problem?

Maybe you can write customer service, starting with "I've been a customer of Amazon UK for several years. I never had a problem ordering CDs, DVDs, books, boxed sets, etc." so the squeaky wheel gets the oil?

Can you order from HMV, amazon US, CA, FR, DE? etc.

I have had this problem several times with Amazon.com (ie Amazon USA) as a UK resident trying to buy US releases.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it, but presumably someone somewhere has said "This product s for our local territory only" and Amazon are honouring that.

When I've hit that problem wth Amazon USA (eg "Tom and Jerry and the Wizard of Oz" Blu-ray was one such title that I had the problem with) I've usually gone through the list of resellers until I've found one that works. It's annoying that they only tell you at the final stage of payment so you have to go back several screens and try the same information again with each reseller until you get one that doesn't have a restriction, but from this side of the Pond this has usually worked for me.

Someone who has the BD mentioned that audio/video quality is impressive, and the extra features are excellent as well.

There are two Arena docs on the making of this next Saturday evening on BBC2 (& BBC HD). Nearly two hours worth of stuff, I've set my recorder.

From my sky guide, it looks as though part 1 is the doc and part 2 is the actual film.

Yep, that makes sense, my Virgin guide is not that clear. Ha, good news, no need to buy the Blu.
