Why doesn't Amazon.fr ship certain titles to the U.S?

I was trying to order King Kong(1976), John Carpenter's Vampires and The 13th Warrior from amazon.fr , and I couldn't get past entering my address. It kept saying they can't ship King Kong and Vampires to my address in the U.S., but could ship the other. Anyone know a reason why it's doing this? I've never ordered from the french amazon before, but never had a problem with the U.K. site. Could it be because the discs that won't ship are region B only?? I have a region free player, so not a problem for me, how can I tell them?

Check to make sure the supplier is Amazon and not a marketplace seller

it is one of two things--
EITHER it is a marketplace seller that does not have international shipping enabled OR
it is a seller BUT says "fulfilled by amazon".
even if it says that they will not ship to other countries. This is true on all the amazon sites. It is very frustrating, because obviously amazon has the item in stock.
only items "in stock" and being sold by amazon proper will ship to other countries.
if the issue is just a seller without the international shipping option enabled sometimes they will change the settings if you pm them.
if it is the other issue you're out of luck unfortunately.

Thanks, never thought of the marketplace aspect, gonna have to look into that, can't read French so relying on the translator. Will let you know if that's the problem.

Both are indeed marketplace vendors being fulfilled by Amazon. You can find them offered directly by Amazon.fr as well: (Vampires @ €13.28 and King Kong @ €12.76). Choose those and it should be smooth sailing from then on.
