Exclamation Panasonic DMP-BD10AK Screen Burn? HELP!

I have bought a new Panasonic DMP-BD10AK and have it attached via HDMI cable (tried 3 different cables and 2 different HDMI in ports on TV) direct to my Sony 60" Widescreen (appx 1 1/2 yrs old).

When I watch blue ray I see a blue glow stripe in the picture that looks almost like the no dvd in blu-ray logo is still remnant partially on screen. We also see that same blue stripe when we change to video 8 which is where we have HDMI Cable HD box ported in.

We had a further incident about a week ago that we left the Blu-ray on for 20 mins with no dvd in (logo showing). And when we got back a lot of the Blu-ray logo would still show in the background of the DVD playing on Vid 7 or the Cable on Vid 8. That thankfully went away when we shut down the TV and the Blu-ray overnight.

I know this sounds like screen burn but why does the Blu-ray burn the screen so quickly. i.e. if we choose to watch a blu-ray movie we get the lower logo sweep line at the bottom of the movie picture throughtout and that seems to remain until we shut off the Blu-ray player and the TV for a while......I am totally baffled as no other video component in our Home Theater has done this.

Called Panasonic and they blame Sony and are no help at all.

Help!!!

Thanks,
Don

Sounds like image retention. You running a plasma? Does the image appear even without the BR player being in there?

I have a 42" plasma and it does the same thing but only for a min or so and goes away. You should have a way in your TV settings to make your tv completely white which helps eliminate burn. Leave the white screen on for like 10 min or so every so often which I do about every few days just to help on the burn factor. Thats all I can think of.

I looked in the Sony Setup for a Degauss type action but see nothing to reset the screen......

its not degauss......I cant remember the name of the function..hmmm due to being at work. It basically just makes your screen all white or all green which just wipes out burn marks. If you dont find a way to do this I will check when I get home tonight.

I love my Panny Plazzys , NO burn in OR pic retention at ALL!! That projection should not have any kind of Permanent ret-burn thats very odd if it does not go away in a min or so, or when the pic starts up and the screen is full of colores.
