Czech Republic The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Steelbook (Czech Republic)

Film Arena are reporting a 4-disc 2D/3D steelbook for The Hobbit will be released on 17th April 2013. Bear in mind this could easily to out to be nonsense but the date itself is a good indicator and it's a very good bet that Warners will do a steelbook for this one.

The current artwork, defintely a temp mock-up stolen from the special edition soundtrack (and hopefully nowhere near the final design as the Gandalf teaser poster would make for a gorgeous steelbook):

Now that we all know how peter releases the LOTR film on Blu ray, will you but the hobbit and its two other parts as they are release or wait until the box set which we all know will follow. I haven't decided yet.

I'll be buying each individual theatrical release as they come out (hopefully in steelbooks if they include the 3D version) followed the the Extended Edition a few months later. Just as I did with LOTR.

Passing on the theatrical, waiting for the Extended. I never watch the theatrical editions of LOTR, and regarding the Hobbit, I don't feel like paying twice for a movie I have problems with.

Why you have a problem with the Hobbit? What did those little people ever do to you?

No, just that they release fake artwork in hopes of getting loads of pre-orders in (charging money I believe) and then never releasing it. I dunno, I don't trust their announcements.

If there does end up being a steelbook, hopefully the artwork will be something along those lines
