Did I ruin my sub, or do I have a ground loop?

Hello,

I have a pretty elaborate home theater with many devices, wires etc. Today I was fidling with my TV antenna, which sits on my subwoofer(was this a huge mistake?) and in the process of moving the antenna around I sort of knocked out the rca line inputs in the back of my subwoofer. The sub(old velodyne VA-1012-B) starting humming loudly, and in desperation I tried to jam them back in. Eventually after unplugging the sub, I decided to give it a rest and hooked an infinity hts-20sub, which also started humming away.

After a lot of reading online, I unhooked all of my equipment, tried 3 different rca cables, tried a cheater connection, two different outlets. When I plug in either sub into power they turn on and don't hum, as soon as I plug in a rca into line in and turn volume up, very loud hum. I even went to radio shack and got a ground isolator, and that did nothing to change my predicament. It's strange that both subwoofers are exhibiting the same behavior, maybe I caused a short, I know I really pissed off my apartment manager one time when I tried to use fluorescent lights in the bathroom and caused a short, sparks.

Just a little background on the velodyne, we replaced a resistor last year, but he rca inputs were not screwed in as tight as they could have been, now they have been tightened.
