Need For Speed Shift 2 Unleashed Problem. Timed Out??? - Blu-ray Forum

So my buddy just came over and said he was playing Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed and that as he was playing, a message kept popping up saying "Will time out in 15 minutes" or something like that.

He just kept playing, and it would pop up at various intervals, and then suddenly the entire game exited out and he was exited out to the XMB.

Now it's the full game, not a trial and he's played it a long time, so I'm not sure why it would be doing this. This was a "Free PSN+ Game" at one point so I know it's not a trial that he got mistakenly.

Anyone else have this problem or know what is the deal?

I got the same message ("this content will expire in 15 mins") this weekend playing Borderlands (which I also got for free from PS+ last month).

Some things to note:

1) I was offline
2) I had not yet downloaded the new PSN update (v 4.30)

I freaked out when I saw it, b/c there is no way in hell I was gonna lose all my progress.

Once I downloaded the update and logged back into PSN (which I promptly did after seeing the msg), all was good.
