it was a corporate thing initiated in all stores, the sales associate in electronics, i hope he isnt the dept mgr said that they are mainly carrying blu-ray because"The Disney films come on them" WTF Thats a really good reason and all but make the consumer aware of the real reasons that blu is perferred over HDDVD and it has a better sales record since its launch compared to hddvd

A couple of my Targets were updated today.

They were 4 columns Blu, and 2 HD before, and they now bumped it up to 11 columns Blu, and 5 HD. Almost triple the space for Blu! Woohoo!

The WalMart near me in Mississauga just went from 2:1 in favour of Blu-ray to 3:1 in favour of Blu-ray.

Also the rack for hidef movies has been moved out into the aisle. Now you can't miss it. It has four sides and 3 of those are Blu-ray. One side is HD DVD but it is the side you'd see last.

Anyone thinking "who will win this war" is clearing going to think Blu-ray now.

Also I asked an employee at Walmart, who would win the war. He said he thought Blu-ray.

My local Wal-mart got one of the big 4-sided displays today... 2 sides are entirely Blu, one side has one row of HD DVD and another side has 2+ rows. Overall 82-26 for Blu in titles available. The two TVs were showing demos, one was alternating BD/HD DVD (I wonder what format they burned their demo disc in? lol) and the other side was a blu-ray only demo screen. Ironically the one that is blu-ray all the time is on the side with the most HD DVD. All the HD DVD is on bottom rows by the floor.

I wish I had one of those Fry's around here too!

The local Wal-Mart on 4th Avenue in St. Catharines just got one of these 4-side displays too. Pretty cool!

3 sides are pure Blu-ray while one side is HD DVD with some Blu-ray movies. It was just really nice to see such a display!

perhaps i need to get out more...but i went into asda again today to get a paper and such, so thought i would have a quick look at the BD section again...yesterday all the trays were full, except the copy of Spidey i bought, today there were only 2 left in the 300tray, 1 out of the casino royal, 1 out of black hawk down, 2 out of ghost rider(!) none gone from stealth, 1 of each of the Eastwood war films gone and one other i cant recall...so not bad for 24hours! teh hddvd section had a copy of 300 gone, the rest were full!

I was at WM a week ago, they had 4 BDs this week 40 . I picked up Halloween and Underworld. Both were under $20.00 ea. I find that most B&M stores are much higher than on line. I don't like WM, I ment I didn't like WM, now I'll be back every Tuesday
