Default BigD, would love to have your input

Big Daddy

Need your thoughts regarding adding another HSU MBM-12 MK2 Mid Bass.
http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/mbm-12mk2.html (link to MBM-12 information)

If you remember, I have a 7.2 system: 5 in-ceiling SpeakerCraft AIM8 Fives for surrounds along with 2 SpeakerCraft in-ceiling TIME Fives used as Wides.

I have a main sub along with HSU's MBM-12 used as a Mid Bass (frequency range is 50-150 Hz). I put in the Mid Bass because in-ceiling speakers are generally a bit thin in sound and the Mid Bass helped fill in the 50-100 Hz frequency (I have adjusted the MBM-12's frequency to be used between the 50-100 Hz range).

The MBM is installed directly under the front sound stage, in a sound proofed cabinet, laying on its side. It has worked out fantastically. I am very happy with how it turned out. The sound is now much fuller.

I am considering adding another MBM along side the one in the cabinet.

-----------------------------

I e-mailed HSU Research for their thoughts and here is their reply:

Adding another will give you more headroom. During the loud parts, the system will sound more dynamic, more wow. Distortion should also be lower for the same SPL as each sub needs only 1/4 the power to play at the same SPL.

Make sure your gain match the two MBM.

-------------------------------

It seems to me that if I have play my system loud (which I don't) another MBM might help. If I don't, then another MBM might be a waste.

OR could adding another MBM give me a little bit more fuller sound between the 50-100 Hz range even when the volumne is not turned up?

Do you have any thoughts?
