Default Blu-ray HD capacity in hours ?

Hi,

I was wondering exactly how many hours of Full HD time can be stored on a 50 GB Blu-ray disc ?

If i ask it is because two Blu-ray sources quote very different capacities.

here on bluray.com in the Blu-ray FAQ it says:

"Over 9 hours of high-definition (HD) video on a 50GB disc.
About 23 hours of standard-definition (SD) video on a 50GB disc."

now look at what is said on the Playstation website: http://uk.playstation.com/help-suppo...ail/item48575/

It says "With a massive capacity on each BD, allowing up to THREE hours of HD video plus nine hours of Standard Definition (SD) bonus material to be stored on one double layer Blu-ray Disc, you'll be sure of no disc-swapping interruptions."

Well between 3 hours and 9 hours, the difference is quite important so which is it ?

Thanks for shedding some light on this
