Default LG BP620 Dolby True HD

Bought this player because it decodes DTS HD Master audio and Dolby True HD, only to find it converts the Dolby to two channels PCM instead of 7.1 PCM as for DTS. Other then that player is fine.

If you select BitStream on the BP620 then your surround receiver will decode Dolby True HD just fine. You lose the secondary audio...but who uses that? This is a good lil player without spending the money for an Oppo. It works great and loads fast. Here is a quote from the Home Theater review that they didn't include in the the review above this post.

"Regardless, I actually prefer the bitstream output. It lets me decode in my surround processor and see the type of native soundtrack on the disc clearly labeled in its display, so it’s not a big deal to me. But if you’re a fan of PiP commentaries and you still want multichannel soundtracks, or you don’t have a modern HDMI receiver that fully decodes the lossless formats, this may not be the player for you."

The problem is his sony doesn't decode lossless audio, so he needs a player that does. Might be worth picking up a new player if you're not ready for a new avr.

Player is set to bitstream at the moment but current receiver can only decode DTS and DTS HD, can decode Dolby but not Dolby true hd, but the nor mal DTS and Dolby still sounds creat..

Can not afford player or receiver but if I could replace, I would like to replace receiver with receiver that supports HDMI 1.4 and can decode DTS HD Master and Dolby True HD
