Default Hard Times (1975) (Limited Edition) - SOLD OUT

Pre-order link http://www.screenarchives.com/title_...RD-TIMES-1975/

Quote:
Also known as The Streetfighter, Hard Times stars Charles Bronson as Chaney, an aging bare-knuckle boxer, trying to scratch out a living in the middle of the Depression. "Speed" (James Coburn) is the two-bit promoter who books Chaney in the tank towns of the South and Midwest. He is briefly reinvigorated by an affair with the lovely Lucy (Jill Ireland, Mrs. Bronson in real life), but it's back to the seedy realm before too long. Hard Times represented the directorial debut of Walter Hill, who even at this early stage demonstrated the gritty verisimilitude that he'd bring to such future projects as The Warriors (1979) and 48 Hrs. (1982).

With all the James Coburn movies they're putting out, they better change their name to Coburn Time.

Anybody know of how to buy these titles for a better price. I actually don't mind paying twenty bucks for catalog titles that I love.....but thirty bucks is just too much.....

No. Either you love them for $30 or you don't love them for $30. But then it's not really true love.

Even though most of their stuff could use a few more extras, I've been finding the Twilight Time announcements this year much more exciting then those ones coming from Criterion.

Love this film, but it seems really odd that it is going to Twilight Time

Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide mentions that this (and The Driver, actually) had an 'R' rating originally, but was edited to get a 'PG'. What's up with that BS? I thought studios were generally more edgy in the '70s?

Max, good to see you on this site.

Hard Times & The Driver release on 6/11/13 and while we don't have the pre-order date yet and probably won't for several months, you can bet that it will be sometime around May 20th or so.

Default Preorder?

Can't wait for these, both great movies! Not really too familiar with twilight times or even their website, anyone know right off the bat if there is a way to be notified of preorder status?

Both films will go on pre-order in mid-May. All titles are sold online exclusively through Screen Archives Entertainment. You can check for updates on their Facebook page also. Or just subscribe to this thread and check your email once in a while

How does this compare to Walter Hill's other movies? I like The Warriors and I just watched and loved The Driver (if TT's edition has some extras I might spring for it).

Bronson breaking faces in 1975, sounds like a blind buy.

Ther are a few of these Bronson titles out in Germany, you wouldn't think it would be that difficult (Kinjite is terrible though )
