Default Broadway: The American Musical - released 10/16

I just noticed that a terrific 6-part documentary (3 Blu discs) came out yesterday without any notice, Broadway: The American Musical.

I am not sure how the PQ in HD will be because it was filled with a lot of archival footage. But if you love Broadway, this is a must have. It also includes three hours worth of interviews not seen on PBS.

I have the DVD set and it's fantastic. Will consider an upgrade when there's a price drop.

I have the DVD set, too, but will be selling it now. I placed an order with the first "third party" listed on Amazon, who has it at $19.80.

UPDATE: Fast service from the TP. I ordered it this morning and it's been sent already. Yay! (I will report back when I get it and let all know about the PQ and AQ.) (Sigh, Amazon's notification says the delivery will be between 10/24-11/8. I want it now!!!)

wow, I hadn't even heard of this!
I'm very tempted to buy it, but like most entertainment documentaries, recent history gets the shaft. The earlier segments each cover only 12-15 years, but by the time you hit the more modern era, they cram 22-24 years into the same running time. This always happens with movie documentaries, too. I respect the older stuff and the origins of it and all, but personally modern shows and films interest me far more.

Decision, decisions.... ah, who am I kidding, I'll probably bite. At $40 I wouldn't have, but for $15, sure.
