Got this as a blind buy on the strength of the fantastic BOUDU SAVED FROM DROWNING as well as the glowing reviews its been receiving from all quarters!

I've had the French release since last year, and it topped my site's "best of" list for the year. I'm not sure whether or not this is the same transfer as that release, but if it is then you're in for a treat. For my money, and as a big fan of this type of thing, its the finest replication of technicolor on the Blu-ray format. Outstanding film too, one of Renoir and Gabin's finest collaborations.

I have both versions and can confirm that picture quality on the BFI is exactly the same as the Gaumont French edition. A major advantage over the French version is that the BFI have included English subtitles for the documentary and restoration featurette.
