When Will Apple Have Blu? - Blu-ray Forum

I know apple is a blu-ray supporter, but I'm wondering:

Does anyone know if Apple will include blu in their desktop and notebook systems anytime soon?

I would love to buy a laptop sometime in the near future, and I've had my eye on a MacBook Pro for some time, however I want the option of blu-ray.

I am waiting for it, but I don't expect it to happen this year. 2008 for sure though.

They're a Blu-ray supporter, but they have no placed Blu-ray Drives in their systems yet.

Apple supports Blu, but they have yet to add one into one of their computers.

But the software they have (Final Cut Pro Suite) supports Blu-ray.

The problem is that there hasn't been any software to play back commercial (AACS protected) Blu-ray titles. The Mac fanatics I know tell me that Leopard will support HD DVD and Blu-ray playback out of the box. If that's true, I'm sure we'll be seeing Macs with Blu-ray drives shortly after the launch of Leopard.

The Leopard is out this friday 10/26 so let's hope next year some of they're machines will have BD-R
