India/Bollywood Ayngaran Song STARS HD

Featuring selected songs from Venghai, Chikku Bhukku, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Nootrenbadhu, Aadupuli, Deivathirumagal, Avan Ivan, Easan and Pokkisham.

PQ:

I had not invested in an Ayngaran Song compilation prior to this as I've always bought the individual movies themselves on blu-ray and the compilations didn't make good value for money, as far as I was concerned. I decided to take a chance on this as it had songs from hitherto unreleased movies on HD, except for VTV. Boy oh boy, what a pleasant surprise! I loved the collection of songs on this compilation. The PQ is fantastic overall, with VTV arguably being the poorest performer of the lot on a relativistic scale and that is the statement that says it all about this blu-ray's PQ. Its intricate details dazzle, and the natural texture of faces and the clarity of the surroundings could not be any more impressive. The image remains sharp and focused even at a distance, capturing with startling precision some fine details. I am spoilt for choices when it comes to describing my favorite songs on this BD. When a moment freezes in time, the rules of reality get suspended and suddenly you see magic in things that never demanded a second look. It is when a moment is frozen or slowed down by multiples of hundred times, you suddenly see that gravity disappears into thin air. You see man fly like a bird, walk on water or dance in air. Things that look unreal but are not. It is happening around us every day, every moment and yet we don't see them. Slowing time brings this magic to light in the song Rules Kidayadhu in Nootrenbadhu. The song was shot on the Phantom Flex camera that can shoot up to 2500 frames per second. The song exaggerates the actions that happen in a second through slow motion and makes us realize the magic around us, portrayed immaculately in Hi-def. I could go on and on about some of the other outstanding songs on this blu-ray, but I think it is fair to say that this song is a good representative sample of the PQ of this BD overall. This is a pure Blu-ray transfer, and defines an exemplary presentation.

AQ:

The LPCM and DTS-HD Master Audio tracks maintain excellent clarity with superb, far-reaching dynamics that never overwhelm the well-prioritized, always intelligible vocals. The whole front soundstage is sprawling with ambience to give the lossless mix a demanding but very engaging presence. The rear speakers deliver distant ambient effects with awesome lucid movement that sometimes feels as though certain objects are right in the room. Directionality and pans are great on some of the songs, with exhilarating, life-like transparency. The incredibly powerful and spectacularly responsive bass is phenomenal. Kudos to Ayngaran once again for releasing another Demo-worthy product.

Verdict:

This Blu-ray edition arrives with a spectacular, reference-quality high-def transfer for the most part and a fulfilling audio presentation that expands the desirability-quotient of this release. Highly Recommended!

Glad you liked this one...

All down to the guys at AP International who were hired by Ayngaran to source the 2k DPX files, get the DOP colour correction LOGS/LUTS and encoded an incredible disc

If the source is great then we can pump out a great disc...

Sadly, it looks like Ayngaran are not doing any more blu-rays for a while. Gemini recently bought the oversees rights to Mataaran (a film I was hoping to make a blu-ray for). They seem unintrested in releasing DVD/Blurays for USA/Europe.

We used the same 2k DPX source that was used for the Seyons blu-ray. However, our colour correction methods was approved by the DOP. Our songs also don't have any watermarking.

So, is Ayngaran going to release the Deiva Thirumagal blu-ray or is that project also shelved? What are the pending blu-ray releases from Ayngaran, before this self-imposed hiatus comes into vogue? Thanks Sunny..

I wanted to buy this from Ayngaran e-store. Last week when I checked, the website's security certificate was expired. I hope they fix it soon. It is not fixed yet.

I guess it would have been a last minute decision for Ayngaran to leave out Mankatha and Velayutham songs... "STAR HD" with cover page showing Vijay and Ajith.

I would've bought that blu-ray too, except for the fact that I already have the songs of Velayudham, Mankatha, Sivaji, Ko, VTV, Boss Engira Baskaran, Raavanan, Angadi Theru, Aadhavan, Paiyaa, Deivathirumagal, Naan Mahaan Alla and Nootrenbadhu on other blu-rays. Would've been a waste of money to buy it just for Osthe songs, as I'll also end up buying the 7aam arivu blu-ray when it comes out. But, I am sure that it is a great compilation for someone who is starting out with their Tamil BD collection..

Hello,
Can you help me (I'm French) to select the best collection of songs in Tamil BD.
My wife is Tamil and she has not BD Tamil. She loves songs and dances traditional type (she hate tamil songs too modern or electro, dance party ...).

I think order 2 or 3 BD on the website Ayngaran. I've seen some BD that might be good:
1) Ayngaran HD STAR SONG : http://eshop.ayngaran.com/ww/product...f1f21a73cacfe2

2) (some posts on this forum say that BD is poor ... is it true ? https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=170927 ) BEST SONGS OF 2010 - BLURAY SONGS VOL 2 : http://eshop.ayngaran.com/ww/product...f1f21a73cacfe2

3) DIGITAL MUSICAL RAYS 2011 - BLU RAY SONGS (VOL 3) : http://eshop.ayngaran.com/ww/product...f1f21a73cacfe2

4) FAVOURITE HITS OF Kollywood Vol - 1 : http://eshop.ayngaran.com/ww/product...f1f21a73cacfe2

I am looking for BD with very good picture quality and sound.
Can you help me in my choice and do not have too many duplicates of the same songs on different BD.

Thank you very much.

Hope this help.

Do you already have an order on the website Ayngaran? is it safe? I have this message:

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to eshop.ayngaran.com, but we can not confirm that your connection is secure.
eshop.ayngaran.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate expired on 05/14/2012 01:59. The current date is 11/30/2012 16:17.
